Ok I had an idea for a CCCC au/mini story thing??? Inspired by this post

So Heart being formed from Soul and a previous 4th character that doesn't exist anymore.

Bear with me, I'm making this up on the spot.

Perhaps before Heart (and Mind?? I'll have to research The Sun loretm) existed, it was just Soul and Theia. At some point they had some sort of major discourse which ultimately led to them combining, and creating Heart. (except Soul didn't disappear, instead of 'combining' maybe instead, a part of Soul merged into Theia and that became Heart) Then Mind came along through similar events.

The timeline for this would make alot of sense to have happened when Whole was a baby or something since he would be just gaining all these things (sort of like how in Inside Out, Riley starts off with just Joy then the other's come along). Soul reveals this in a kind of 'dad lore' moment to the other two.

In current time, Soul is crazy paranoid about the same thing happening to Mind and Heart since they are constantly at ends. Soul fears that they're going to split/combine/break just like he did, and what he does about that becomes a major plot point.

Souls also got crazy angst relating to Theia; long lost love type situation (not necessarily romantic tho it would most likely be platonic or familial).

The blood, sweat, and tears put into this place, built up into the finely tuned, well-oiled machine it is, that takes years of dedication. Bet you ain’t never seen such finely cared for and loved animals, eh, darlin’? Well look no further, you have now!

Oh… who’s the—the donkey? Oh, that’s Darla. Been protecting this farm for as long as memory serves. Hell, she probably thinks she does a better job than the dogs.

Summary:

When Harmonia shines, Atlas beholds him. Without a Heart, how does a man continue on? When his Soul is decrepit and shaved down to its bare bones, how does he keep up the facade of life? When his Mind is the only thing left standing after the gruelling war, how does he not fall victim to its lies just the same as everyone else has?

Or

Heart is left behind in Apathy to rot while the others become whole without him. Surely this won't have any negative consequences, right?

Jimmy Solidarity works for the esteemed god of Death, reaping lost souls and taking care of unsavory characters. He's recently finished his training, and is determined to do well on his first solo mission. Perhaps this "Tango" would be a good start. Only, the god of Death disappeared years ago, and Necromancer Tango Tek's long since discovered a way around dying. He can't say he enjoys Jimmy swinging through and killing him where he stands, though.

Thank you to my team for being as feral about this AU as I am, and kicking everything about it up to 110. I had so much developing this world with them!

While Graveyard Shift is the amalgamation of many of my interests, the main premise for this AU is loosely inspired by the webcomic, I'm the Grim Reaper, in both its apocalypse themes and its aesthetics! Not a required read, but highly recommend if you enjoy this au, as well as the anime and manga, Soul Eater!

I came up with a lot of AUs for this event but necromancer!Tango and reaper!Jimmy have been rattling around in my brain in separate AUs since before I started brainstorming for aufest. So I smashed them together, naturally.

Originally, Tango's outfit was going to be more like his Dungeon Master outfit but I wanted the setting to be more modern and Jimmy stole the fantasy cloak vibe from him already lol

Jimmy's entrance of lightning is my nod to the Life Series final death sound

The scarf Jimmy's wearing is designed to be a boneyard shawl

i based this AU a bit from lilo and stitch, in the sense that older brother tyler is struggling to keep him and his baby sister afloat!

i had a lot of fun thinking about what details i wanted to include in this au, specifically their character designs and personalities. and let me tell you, my brain did not let let me draw anything else aside from this au for the whole week LMAO
